How can people get a nonprofit up and running, and more importantly, keep it running smoothly? The author, CEO of Wolf, Keens and Company, a consultancy for the nonprofit field, originally developed this manuscript from materials he created for a course at Harvard University in the early '80s. Now in its third edition, his helpful guide filled with case studies and pertinent examples from real (albeit unidentified) organizations has been revised and updated to focus on the latest developments and organizational issues in nonprofit management. These include concerns about sustainability in the face of societal and funding changes; the need for continual leadership development as many organizations mature; and how to navigate through "a collision course" where nonprofits and for-profits are bound to intersect.
