Alternative dispute resolution: Don't litigate, negotiate.
11/19/2001
As legal costs continue to rise, more organizations are turning to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) to settle conflicts in the workplace. Founded in 1926, the American Arbitration Association (AAA) has become an internationally recognized source for ADR education. The Association uses its Web site effectively both as a marketing tool and as a vehicle for disseminating research. The AAA publishes a number of journals including some that focus on specific industries. While much of the information is only available to subscribers, some current articles from AAA journals are available to the public. Rules, procedures, guides, forms, and fact sheets are accessible by industry and are handy tools for managers.
