    http://www.bis.org/
Research, statistics, and ideas from the world's oldest international financial organization
    12/4/2000
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the world's oldest international financial organization, was formed in Basel, Switzerland, in 1930. It serves as a forum for international monetary and financial cooperation, a center for monetary and economic research, and a bank for central banks around the world. The BIS Web site reflects the organization's purpose with statistics, conference proceedings, working papers, articles and speeches by senior central bankers, and links to the central banks of close to 100 countries. It's a rich resource from an institution at the center of the international monetary system.
