Bitpipe

Three-year-old Bitpipe is a resource portal and syndication service for IT sellers and buyers offering both free and for-fee content from some 3,500 IT vendors and 60 research firms. Bitpipe aggregates and organizes abstracts of white papers, case studies, and IT research documents which can be accessed via a proprietary search engine or browsing by category or company. There is a lot of valuable information here, but finding the prize nuggets can be difficult. For example, when we chose the topic Windows XP, we were presented with 59 links—58 were written by Microsoft. More helpful is the "Most Popular Documents" offerings, selected by site users. Vendors can use Bitpipe's syndication service to offer up their own research or product info. Also potentially valuable are the service's free newsletters, organized by topic.
