BoardSource

A core clearinghouse of information on nonprofits, BoardSource was founded over a decade ago with a mission of increasing the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations' boards. The Internet provides an effective medium for organizations to both market their services and inform their potential clients, and this site is a great example of both. It's difficult to choose the best section of the site, but "Board Member Online" and the "Q&A" page would be near the top. Board Member Online presents selected articles from the seven regular issues of the Center's members-only publication. (Three additional special issues are available in print only.) The "Q&A" section is chockfull of answers to questions like "How do we become a nonprofit organization?" (they provide a detailed checklist) and "Where can we find additional information?" (a wonderful page of related resources). This is an excellent source designed with content and clarity in mind.
