Harvard Business School is known around the world for developing the case-study method of instruction, but the School doesn't have a corner on that market. Many organizations—both educational and in business—develop case materials, and that's where CasePlace comes in handy.
The site is a collection of cases, references, and commentary for business educators and executives. In the case area, you will find a wide variety free or available for purchase (including from HBS). Click over to the Finance area, for example, and you will find some sixty cases on such varied topics as the collapse of Enron, how Western Oil & Gas Company evaluated strategic financing for a refinery upgrade, and an exercise addressing the environmental issues of rain forest preservation and energy production.
The References section contains links to background materials, articles, and books that provide a context for many of the cases.
CasePlace.org is run by the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society Program.
