Social change through profitable enterprise
2/15/2000
Community Wealth is defined here as "resources generated through profitable enterprise to promote social change," and the site serves as a resource for practitioners in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Start surfing by clicking on the link to their site map. Among the most substantive sections are: "Profiles" (under Models) a searchable directory of community wealth initiatives in the U.S.; and the "Toolkit," an interesting collection of articles, reports, tools and templates pulled together to provide a framework for a new social initiative venture. There are also directories of useful publications, organizations and other Web sites and a chance to subscribe to several e-mail discussion lists. Community Wealth is presented by Save Our Strength, a Washington, DC-based anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, and its consulting arm, Community Wealth Ventures.
