"Logistics and the Online Revolution"
5/16/2000
The Logistics Institute at the Georgia Institute of Technology joined with United Parcel Service and the Council on Competitiveness to sponsor this two-day conference on the logistics side of the e-commerce changes remaking the marketplace. Originally broadcast live via the Web, its speeches and panel discussions have been made available online via the Georgia Tech Web site. There's a keynote address from U.S. Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater and speeches from Cisco Chairman John Morgridge, UPS CEO Jim Kelly and Georgia Governor Roy Barnes. The centerpiece of the conference, available here in two parts, is a lengthy panel discussion, with 18 leaders from industry, government and academia taking on questions of infrastructure, research & development, policy and the general direction of logistics solutions needed to keep the e-commerce revolution going. It's a high level, strategic look at the evolving world of e-commerce from an operational point of view.
