Dot.con: The Greatest Story Ever Told

A cautionary tale with many culprits.
    3/11/2002
"Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?" Anyone caught in the dot-com bust can relate to Johnny Rotten's sentiment, inscribed in the opening pages of Dot.con: The Greatest Story Ever Told. New Yorker writer John Cassidy weaves a compelling narrative of the latest speculative stock market bubble in this tale of many culprits. Cassidy implicates Internet companies, Wall Street analysts and investment banks, journalists, and even the untouchable Alan Greenspan. While chronicling the mushrooming of Internet stocks and individual investing, Cassidy also addresses the underlying frailties of human nature that contributed to the dot.con.
