Due diligence is the key to a successful merger.

More than half of attempted mergers don't succeed. This book speculates that if proper due diligence research was performed more often, the success rate would probably be much higher. The author is currently director of AMR International, London's leading due diligence specialist and consequently devotes attention primarily to the British business environment. But this book provides relevant practical guidance regardless of national perspective. Effective due diligence needs to be a comprehensive process that assesses the deal from a commercial, financial, and legal perspective. The dominant concern in conducting productive due diligence is good project management skills and figuring out a whole deal plan, in terms of what is to be gained from the due diligence conducted. Taking a very practical approach, after explaining the benefits of proper due diligence, the book lays out an approach to all aspects of structuring a due diligence research program.
