Emotions in the Workplace: Understanding the Structure and Role of Emotions in Organizational Behavior

A conceptual framework for understanding emotions at work
    6/10/2002
Surprisingly, the study of emotions in the workplace has generally been a neglected research pursuit. However, in the last two years academic researchers and organizational psychologists have made significant contributions to this field. Emotions In the Workplace: Understanding the Structure and Role of Emotions in Organizational Behavior is the latest offering to fill a gap in the literature. In presenting the conceptual framework, the authors explore many fields within psychology to offer an understanding of emotions in the context of work environment. Readers who are not part of academia will also find this volume useful as the editors have purposefully devoted nearly one half of it to real-life applications. Whether it is emotion regulation in customer service, or the notion of courage in the workplace, managers and employees across the board will find Emotions in the Workplace both relevant and challenging.
