The Federal Reserve Board is one of the great collectors of data on the American economy, and this rich site, designed for researchers, provides easy access to many of its reports.
You will find current and historical data on topics including consumer credit, industrial production and capacity, depository reserves, commercial, industrial, and farm loans, and selected interest rates. In all, there are some thirty-seven reports that are updated either daily, weekly, or monthly. Hey, you can even get a list of holidays observed by the Fed up through 2009!
Don't expect much text or analysis—these are the raw numbers that take the temperature of the economy. If you are serious about your stats, dive in.
