How franchisors and franchisees work together to build a business—and wealth.

This book starts off with a simple question: Is franchising entrepreneurship? Certainly, the best franchisors and franchisees are entrepreneurs. But franchising done correctly is also an opportunity to reduce risk and create wealth rapidly, according to the authors. This book looks at all aspects of franchising including building relationships between franchisors and franchisees, site selection, marketing, monitoring, and financial analysis. Particularly helpful is a "Franchise Risk Profile Template," which will help you make decisions such as whether to buy a franchise or launch a standalone. The authors make a compelling team: Spinelli co-founded Jiffy Lube, Rosenberg was CEO of Dunkin' Donuts, and Birley was a former director of National Westminster Bank, a large franchise lender.
