    Global Leadership: The Next Generation

Why being a global leader is better and how to become one.
    9/8/2003
What's special about the "next" generation? Goldsmith—considered by Forbes as one of the top five executive coaches around—and colleagues came up with five emerging characteristics of global leaders. These are the ability to think globally, appreciate cultural diversity, develop technological savvy, build partnerships and alliances, and share leadership. Fine; but that's just the first chapter. The others describe in comprehensive detail what those characteristics entail so that every reader can improve his or her global leadership skills. On the topic of building alliances with other organizations, for example, the material is organized by what to do, how to do it, results you can expect, and "how to use this skill further"; there's also a list of additional readings for each topic. In short, a lot of bang for the global leadership buck.
