Guide to Managerial Persuasion and Influence

To convince your audience, first develop an argument.
    9/29/2003
As director of Student Writing Programs at the University of Michigan Business School, the author has succeeded in providing "a brief, relevant, and reader-friendly" guide that managers and executives can use to enhance their written and oral styles of persuasive communication. Her book is not just the usual fare of tips on how to improve communication. Instead, it stresses that the most effective way to appeal to an audience is by developing a convincing and logical argument with careful analysis of the audience as well as the organizational and cultural environment. Thomas also suggests useful strategies that readers can adopt to motivate their audiences. This book is the latest installment in the Prentice Hall Series in Advanced Business Communication.
