Harvard Business School's take on SE.
2/25/2002
Since 1993, Harvard Business School's Initiative on Social Enterprise has focused on building ties between business and the social sector. The Initiative's goals are to develop leadership and management skills among social enterprises, enable business leaders to contribute to society via social enterprise, and to do research on social enterprise. Although the Initiative is part of Harvard Business School, with a strong focus on research, it reaches out to the public through a series of Executive Education programs ("Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management," "Governing for Nonprofit Excellence," and "Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations," for example). This is a useful site for nonprofit and social enterprise professionals who want to stay abreast of leading-edge research and practice in the field.
