Building an innovation community in the U.K.
12/7/1999
The Marketing Council, a British organization founded by a group of leading industrialists to help "British business increase wealth creation and competitiveness through marketing", developed this Innovation Web site for those interested in leading their organization into "a new era of innovation." There is good information to be found here, though confusing navigation and uneven content areas can make it frustrating to explore. Among the best: a series of innovation case studies from the Marketing Council on the likes of Guinness, Sony, British Airways and DHL (follow the Case Studies and TMC links in the Library section); and thoughts on the nature of innovation from a cross-section of British executives and others (see the Community Directory in the Community section, but be forewarned: some of those listed provide contact information only). The site also offers several interactive features, including subject specific discussion forums and tools to help you understand innovation in your organization.
