Don't be put off by the personal anecdotes or the celebrity photos that pepper It's Who You Know; effective networking is essential in most endeavors and the authors are smart enough to counsel honesty and fidelity to one's personality type. There's much to recommend this book to people who want to improve their networking skills. The book elaborates on the three steps of networking: 1)Know with whom, for what, when, where and how to network. 2)Research the opportunities. 3)Understand how to be valuable. Networking tips for companies, charities, trade shows, and government resources, that can quick-start the research process by bringing together information from many sources are especially helpful.
