What leaders are reading.
9/1/2003
It's always instructive, if not downright entertaining, to see what our peers are reading. Enter the Drucker Foundation's Leader-to-Leader Institute. Although much of the L-to-L site is devoted to promotional materials, its Leaders Recommend page is a glimpse into intriguing must-read lists of influential business thinkers. Now, this page is several years old, but the books listed by author Charles Handy, professor Warren Bennis, and learning expert Peter Senge are quite interesting. Handy, for example, recommends Dynamic Administration: The Collected Papers of Mary Parker Follett. First published in the 1940s, the book is so full of wisdom that "it makes one wonder why the rest of us bothered to write anything at all!" We encourage L-to-L to use its influence with business movers and shakers to contribute more of their favorite resources to the site.
