How are the world's most successful organizations developing their leaders? That's the question this book sets out to answer through case studies of 15 well-known and lesser-known organizations, including Motorola, Colgate-Palmolive, MathWorks and the Army Management Staff College. It's packed with descriptions, tools, instruments, models and insights into the ways these organizations view and implement their leadership development practices. The programs that make a difference, say the authors, include some or all of three critical components: formal training, 360-degree feedback and, most importantly, mentoring and other exposure to senior executives.
