Leading blue-chip firms in the dot.com economy

"There is precious little here that relates to actual earthquakes or how to achieve preparedness for them," admits Moore, the author of two highly-regarded business bestsellers, in his introduction to this new volume. Rather, he explains, Living on the Fault Line is aimed at executives of leading (albeit traditional) public companies who are tormented by one simple question: "What in the world are we supposed to do about the dotcoms?" The dot.com invasion has certainly caught many blue-chip firms off-guard. Moore's tactics for victory, outlined here in sharp, accessible language, include weighing in with "the one force that may indeed be equal to this challenge: stock price." The new market forces, he warns, have transformed the landscape. "If you are not scared, you are not leading."
