"Making the Macintosh" is a fascinating introduction to the history of Apple's Macintosh computer. This evolving Web site is part of a Stanford University project to document the birth and early days of Macintosh. Featuring original materials from the Stanford University Library's Department of Special Collections, the site includes extensive information on the fundamental technical and conceptual developments that laid the foundation for the computing society of today, including in-depth interviews with many significant players from the 1960s and '70s. The site is divided into six subjects: Counterculture and Computing, The Early Macintosh, The Apple Mouse, Technical Documentation, and Marketing the Macintosh. Each section includes a detailed historical essay and links to related documents, interviews, and articles.
