Baseball wisdom for business managers.

Is New York Yankee manager Joe Torre a better role model for business managers than, say, Jack Welch? Management consultant and former baseball reporter Jeff Angus thinks well-run ballclubs have a lot to teach managers, and his blog shows how successful baseball strategies, traditions, and research tools can be used to make your business run better. For example, many organizations would do well to emulate use of "The Book," an unwritten collection of accumulated baseball wisdom and strategy that every manager and team can use to guide their actions consistently. (Example: Guard the third-base line in late-inning situations). "Any organization, if it commits itself to winning the way baseball organizations do, can model baseball's approach, if it has the will," writes Angus.
