    Managing Crises Before They Happen

     
    A practical guide to preparing for the worst

    "It can't happen to us." How often are these words intoned in the business world? Sticking one's head in the sand on the subject of crisis management, suggest the authors, is no way to cope. Given that crises can and do flare up without apparent provocation, they write, there are a number of steps that companies can take to either waylay a disaster entirely or at least mitigate some of its most damaging effects. Mitroff, the author of many business books as well as a professor at the University of Southern California, joined with Anagnos, director of business development at a crisis management firm they both run, to prepare this practical, sensible guide.
