The McKinsey perspective on global economic issues.
6/21/2004
The McKinsey Global Institute, a think-tank founded within McKinsey & Company in 1990, offers original research, analysis, and recommendations on critical economic issues—from outsourcing to competitiveness—facing businesses and governments worldwide. A valuable slice of the output is offered for free, with registration, in the form of reports written by staffers over the last decade or so. Topics include global economic integration, IT productivity, offshoring, country and sector productivity, and capital markets. Of particular interest to the global executive is the Country and Sector Productivity section, which is home to twenty-one publications examining the economies in fifteen countries including recent looks at Turkey, Thailand, and several European nations. You can also search on topics and regions using a handy pick-and-choose tool: selecting "Offshoring" as a topic, and "Americas" as the location, brings up three reports: "Exploding the Myths About Offshoring"; "New Horizons: Multinational Company Investment in Developing Economies"; and "Perspective: Offshoring: Is It a Win Win Game?"
