Quick scans for nonprofits on fundraising, managing, technology and more
8/21/2000
The North Carolina-based A.J. Fletcher Foundation launched this Web-based news service in February 2000, providing daily updates on fundraising, giving, volunteering, managing, and the use of technology in the nonprofit arena. Items are generally brief (sometimes with links to fuller reports elsewhere on the Web), but are presented in an easy-to-scan format on the front page or in one of several topical areas. Visitors can also sign up to receive the daily update via e-mail. Past items are searchable by broad topic and by nonprofit field. The site also includes a good collection of nonprofit links. Parts of Nonprofitxpress are focused specifically on North Carolina, but editor Todd Cohen, a former business editor at the News & Observer in Raleigh, keeps his finger on the pulse of the nonprofit world across the U.S. and brings worthwhile news to the attention of his readers. Registration, at no cost, is required to access most of the information on the site.
