Take a tour of manufacturing plants—on the Web.

If you think of manufacturing tours as a great way to spend time—and most of us do—check out the "Company Tours" section of the Operations Management Center site. You'll find links to about fifty tours of manufacturing plants from a wide range of companies, from Jelly Belly Candy to Steinway and Sons. Most include company information and images or photos of the facilities. Some tours are more comprehensive than others, but the site provides a nice overview page with links, annotations, and a rating for each company. The other parts of the site are worth a look, too. Content is geared primarily for faculty looking for pedagogical support or references and for students seeking current OM information.
