Realizing the Promise of Corporate Portals, Leveraging Knowledge for Business Success

How your corporate portal can drive productivity and learning.
    2/10/2003
The first corporate portals were little more than electronic bulletin boards for keeping employees informed about the latest health benefits, date of the company picnic, and stock price. Now the CP can be a strategic tool for knowledge sharing and improving corporate performance. How? The authors argue that the CP is the ideal tool for gluing together those trillions of dollars' worth of IT investments made by companies over the last decade—investments that resulted in a lot of data not effectively used. The book includes some 200-pages' worth of case studies from Nortel Networks, Bain & Co., Siemens, Hill & Knowlton, and other companies. Tips on choosing software and consulting services are provided. Overall, an excellent book for IT professionals and management executives.
