An online resource for HR professionals.
2/25/2002
In the last decade, human resource management witnessed enormous change as it moved from a traditionally administrative function to one that is an integral part of organizational strategy. The Society of Human Resource Management has attempted to keep up with the changing needs of HR managers and represent the profession as it continues to evolve. Its Web site keeps members informed on the important trends and events affecting the practice of HR management. While some information on the site is restricted to members, it provides a substantial amount of valuable information to the public. The "Publications and Resources" section includes five regular publications that provide analysis of trends and events, up-to-the minute reports on the latest news, and articles on effective line management techniques. Managers and professionals in all fields are likely to find something of relevance on this site.
