Helping make technology work for nonprofit organizations
5/9/2000
How can nonprofit organizations make the most effective use of technology? The Rockefeller Family Fund's Technology Project wants to help, and this Web site is one part of their effort. There's information about the Project's various initiatives. (The eRiding program, which puts technology experts on site to work with an organization's staff, is the best documented, with presentations, case studies and other resources.) But the most valuable materials on the site are found under Resources. There are publications by and about the Project, including a 1999 "Blueprint for Infusing Technology into the Nonprofit Sector," plus presentations, links to other nonprofit technology resources on the Web and examples of nonprofit organizations putting the Internet to good use. Nonprofits need to understand and accept information technology, according to the project, to enhance their program and advocacy work and to be better positioned to influence how information technology shapes society. This site is a window on how they, and others, hope to make that happen.
