Legal advice and more for high-tech startups
7/10/2000
FindLaw is a four-year-old legal research and resource site that's won wide acclaim and become a content provider to such media players as The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN and CourtTV. Their quality approach is evident in their Silicon Valley Center, which builds on the parent organization's legal expertise, but goes well beyond it too in providing a wide range of guidance, information and resources for high-tech startups. The site is divided into five main areas: Management, Legal, Finance, Marketing and Human Resources. Each includes detailed and informative articles, as well as links to well-selected business tools and resources on other FindLaw sites and elsewhere on the Web. The Management area, for example, includes lengthy articles on business formation, ownership structure, and boards of directors, as well as examples of executive employment and compensation agreements (from the likes of Amazon, eBay, PriceLine and others) and more. There are direct links to other FindLaw services, including the more general FindLaw Small Business Center. An excellent effort from a proven provider of information on the Web.
