The First Annual Business 2.0 Sweet Spot Awards

    Two sites showcase top ads.
    7/22/2002
How's your advertising IQ? If you'd like a refresher, you may appreciate the crash course offered by Business 2.0 and AdAge.com that spotlight the best ad campaigns from the past twelve months. Advertising Age's Web site showcases the annual "Best Awards," a list of award winning print and broadcast media advertisements that appeared the previous year. The site is quite entertaining with not only a list of the winners, but images of the print ads and RealPlayer versions of the broadcast ads. Selected by AdAge editors and reporters, the awards are divided into four categories for Magazine, Newspaper, Out of Home, and Television advertisements, with Television divided into product categories. Each entry has specs including the Title, Client, Agency, and Creative Directors, as well as a synopsis of the ad. Check out the "New York Miracle" series showing stars living their fantasies (Barbara Walters singing on Broadway). It received the award in a special 9/11 Television category for 2001 ads. In a similar fashion, Business 2.0 introduces the "First Annual Sweet Spot Awards," given to ads with the "best buzz marketing," "most innovative campaign," and "best bang for the buck." Insightful articles accompany each ad along with a brief history behind the campaign. And now for the winners…
