Thirty experts weigh in on multinationals.
10/20/2003
Aimed at executives working for or advising large multinationals, this book celebrates the 30-year career of John Stopford, a researcher, writer, teacher, and consultant who recently retired from the London Business School. As a festschrift (or collection of papers to honor someone's illustrious academic career), the volume compiles 19 original essays focusing on concepts addressed by Stopford's most influential books: Managing the Multinational Enterprise (1972), Rival States: Rival Firms (1991), and Rejuvenating the Mature Business (1994). Stopford himself has added a paper reflecting on themes from his decades of academic work. With over 30 contributors, the festschrift thoroughly examines the many challenges facing multinational firms.
