The New Forensics: Investigating Corporate Fraud and the Theft of Intellectual Property

Busting cyber crime and corporate fraud.
    8/4/2003
You have to love a book where the author's credentials read like Philip Marlow's CV. Joe Anastasi is the Global Leader for Deloitte Forensics, which includes the operation of several Cybercrime Computer Forensics labs located around the world, and he is a member of the High-Tech Crime Investigation Association and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Here he shares his insights into his investigations of white-collar crime and cyber crime. Via business forensics, vignettes, interviews, and actual crime reports, Anastasi describes how digital detectives shine a light on such shady dealings as the theft of trade secrets, the use of data mining, money laundering, and other types of theft and fraud using the latest high-tech gadgets. It's enough to make a person downright paranoid. On a smaller scale, you might want to get your hands on your credit report. You never know who's been doing business as you.
