All-in-one guide to business models.
9/1/2003
Contrary to the title, this book provides not so much "secrets" as solid, savvy advice tied into one accessible package. Here is everything you need to know about business model innovation, divided into four sections: the most productive areas for such innovation (increasing value, adjusting prices, eliminating costs, for example), providing sustained benefits for all stakeholders, building on your progress, and pursuing higher-potential business model improvement. The authors, Boston-based consultants in their own firm since 1977, bring in lots of real examples. They also ask good questions, such as "Where has your business model provided new resources through involving new stakeholders?" and its flipside, "What potential stakeholders are you ignoring now? How could they become a source of added resources and strength?"
