The U.S. Pacific Command's Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate reports on progress and pitfalls of Asian economies.
6/3/2002
This annual report from the U.S. Pacific Command's Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate takes on new weight since the events of September 11. The report offers a U.S. military perspective on the need for global security and partnership with Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Anyone interested in learning more about the Pacific region will find the country-by-country (twenty-one in all) economic and political analysis offered here of value, at least from an American perspective. The report also looks at larger geopolitical issues and economic strategy in the face of terrorism. The stylistic use of bullet points and short summaries makes a fairly complex report more accessible.
