    US-ASEAN Business Council

    http://www.us-asean.org/
The ASEAN market from an American business perspective.
    9/20/2004

For over two decades the US-ASEAN Business Council has promoted American business interests in the ten-country ASEAN market. This site provides a wealth of information on the Southeast Asian environment, a regional market of growing complexity and possibility.

As to be expected, the site offers a significant amount of self-promotion, providing members and interested visitors with information on the Council's initiatives, events, and member testimonials.

But it also provides an up-to-date news section with stories from the International Herald Tribune, the Business Times, and other international news sources categorized by region. Executives are provided a spot to talk about their international perspectives. And special sections with fact sheets and other valuable materials are broken down by the organization's industry-specific committees and working groups: Auto Sector, Center for Technology Cooperation, Food and Agriculture, Legal Forum, and the Life Sciences Working Group.

A handy (and free) business matching service allows companies in the U.S. and Southeast Asia to search for potential business partners. There are also links to country profiles, economic indicators, and "doing business in …" guides.
