    War, Chaos, and Business

Applying wartime strategy and agility to business.
    12/10/2001
Maneuver warfare requires the ability to operate with rapid decision cycles—observe, orient, decide, act—coined "OODA loops." Many of the same tactics used successfully in war can also be utilized in the business world. This site was conceived around the ideas of the late military strategist, John Boyd, and the philosophies of Sun Tzu, whose ideas on strategy have endured since at least 400 B.C. The site also serves as a forum for papers and essays from a number of military thinkers and strategists. Business leaders should use the content to learn how to add focus and direction to company culture, and to create the agility needed to achieve a higher level of competitiveness and increased customer loyalty.
