A Harvard Business School professor tells investors how to fight back.
6/16/2003
As he did in last year's Lie, Buy, and Sell High, HBS professor D. Quinn Mills expresses anger at recent corporate scandals and aims his practical advice at the investors (like you?) who lost money. This timely tour of greed is divided into five sections: What Happened to Investors' Money?; Infectious Greed: Who Got the Money?; The Failure of Checks and Balances; Why It Happened; and Reforms to Help Investors. He tells us how to read between the "lies" and protect ourselves better in the future. "Maybe 20 percent" of analysts are honest, he believes. Mills has plenty of academic and corporate experience to back him up: he's been teaching MBA students at Harvard about leadership, strategy, organizations, and human resources since 1976.
