Wired For Good: Strategic Technology for Nonprofits

IT is not a commodity for nonprofits.
    10/6/2003
While the for-profit business world continues its debate on whether IT matters, nonprofits cannot afford the luxury of the debate, says Joni Podolsky in this new book that draws from the Center for Excellence in Nonprofits' Wired for Good program in Silicon Valley. IT planning is crucial because it can become a strategic advantage, helping nonprofits expand and solidify their mission. This book offers concrete steps on analyzing a current IT infrastructure and implementation to see if it truly matches an organization's needs (many nonprofits fail to reexamine their IT plan over time), and walks readers through steps to build a new plan. Useful charts that explain IT configurations to laymen are also provided.
