    Working the Room: How to Move People to Action Through Audience-Centered Speaking

     
    What the Greeks knew about giving a presentation.

    Somewhere between ancient Greek oratory and PowerPoint we've lost the ability to connect on an emotional level with our audiences, says Nick Morgan. Most modern business meetings are deadly dull, and the messages they convey are quickly forgotten. So Morgan encourages presentations that rely on techniques that keep the audience invested in what you are saying and entertained, and, finally, move them to action. The key: using non-verbal cues to create a tie between speaker and listener, techniques mastered by the Greeks. Morgan's three-part process includes tips on content development, rehearsal, and delivery.
