The Internet cure for inefficiency and redundancy.

James Champy, author of the bestseller Reengineering the Corporation has devised a new theory for the digital age. He says that persistent inefficiency and redundancy are still plaguing business processes, and companies are feeling the weight of global competitive pressures. But the antidote is not for businesses to shutter their windows and keep the world away. Quite the contrary. The Internet will enable corporations to cross organizational boundaries and change their process to the point where "transparency of information and processes becomes the norm," the author asserts. And the beneficial effects trickle down. Says Champy: "These new processes would both dramatically improve the performance of companies and the value they deliver to customers."
